We recently entrusted Yvonne and Michael with house and pet sitting for us during a multi-week trip. We are completely satisfied with our decision! Yvonne and Michael displayed remarkable professionalism and experience in taking care of our home and our dogs.
Their level of communication was exceptional, sending us daily photos of our dogs, which greatly reassured us and kept us connected. This attentiveness and dedication gave us complete confidence while we were away.
Our dogs absolutely adored Yvonne and Michael. The bond they formed was so strong that our smallest one even showed signs of missing them for a day after they left. It’s clear that they not only looked after our pets but also cared for them with genuine affection and understanding.
In addition to their exceptional pet care, Yvonne and Michael’s responsible and professional approach to house sitting was evident in every aspect. They maintained our home perfectly, ensuring everything was just as we left it, if not better.

We recently went on a 3-week vacation, something unheard of for us as we have a dog that is quite reactive with other dogs and an elderly cat who needs lots of attention. We met Michael and Yvonne about a year ago through a neighbour and we instantly felt comfortable with them.
Michael and Yvonne are the perfect house sitters! We feel like we hit the jackpot. They took to managing our dog on her walks with great calmness and you could see that they had lots of experience handling animals. Also, just as important, it was obvious that they really loved animals.
The whole experience went beautifully. Michael even drove us to, and picked us up from the airport. What a treat! We returned from our trip to find a fresh loaf of bread (home made), a nice salad, and milk in the fridge. The house was neat and tidy and the animals clearly adored them! We don’t think they wanted them to leave. In fact our cat continued to sleep on their bed for the first few nights after we were home. While we were away, Michael and Yvonne regularly sent updates and photos and sent us a summary of the stay the day we got home.
We cannot recommend Michael and Yvonne more highly. It was such a win-win and we would do this again for sure.

Michael and Yvonne were the perfect sitters for our crew and we were their 100th sit, so very experienced!
Our animals, three dogs and six cats, took to them immediately and they treated them as we do, as members of the family.
We had a two-part trip and they collected us from the airport and dealt with the disruption of us being back home for a short while. They kept in touch on a daily basis which we find helpful, with photos and short messages.
When we returned home, they cooked us delicious meals made from their travel experiences around the world and left everything as it had been when they arrived.
We would not hesitate recommending Michael and Yvonne who were easy to get to know, friendly and professional.

Yvonne and Michael were an absolute godsend during our 10-day vacation in July, and I cannot sing their praises enough. From the moment we met them, they exuded professionalism and warmth, putting our minds at ease about leaving our menagerie of beloved pets and home in their care.

Organised, reliable, and caring pet sitters
Michael and Yvonne cared for our home and very large family (1 dog + 5 cats + 2 garden cats) for a month. From initial contact they communicated well, and kept us up-to-date with pet photos and news while we were away. Our dog can be a bit barky with new sitters but M&Y easily calmed him and they were pals by the time we departed.
They were totally on top of it when one cat suddenly needed vet care, and managed to administer all of her meds (she’s extremely resistant to pilling). Given our jet lag, we loved that the handover at the end of our trip was simplified by a summary ‘report’ that Michael and Yvonne emailed us before we arrived home.
Our house was spotless and linens washed/folded, a homemade soup was waiting in the fridge, and dog and cats were content and obviously well cared for. We would gladly welcome Yvonne and Michael back for another stay. Recommended!

Yvonne & Michael have been absolutely fantastic, if only we could have them to house sit for us every time that we go away. From the moment that we started to communicate regarding the sit, they asked us all of the right questions about each of our dogs to ensure that they knew exactly what sort of care was needed for each dog.
Yvonne & Michael arrived the day before our departure to ensure that we had a proper handover. They made sure that they understood each element of caring for our dogs from the feeding routine to the toilet routine. 2 of our dogs are very elderly dogs, 17 & 16 years old, the 17 year old needed particular care & attention to recognise when he needed to go to the toilet, have a drink etc as he needed to be carried outside. All of the dogs were looked after with great care and patience. Daisy our young dog is now in love with Michael.
On our return the house was immaculately clean and tidy, with some homemade soup ready for us in the fridge incase we were hungry after travelling.
We really can’t recommend Yvonne & Michael enough they are amazing house sitters, and we would have then back to sit for us in a heartbeat.

We were blown away with Yvonne and Michael by their professionalism, friendliness, attention to detail, helpfulness and by the love they gave to our Portia!
They arrived late in the afternoon the day before I was to fly out so they could meet Portia and me, we chatted about everything Portia, we walked through all the unique fun details of our new home and we had a nice dinner. Michael took Portia for a walk before dinner to get familiar with the neighbourhood and they cleaned up while I finished packing (my husband flew to Mexico a week before me).
Portia loved them instantly and to my amazement she slept with them all night long, not mommy!! That blew me away! I was sure she would abandon them to come and sleep with me! This gave me tremendous peace about going away and leaving her at home, my husband Ron was equally as surprised!
To my amazement, Michael was tracking my flight, set his alarm and drove me to the airport at 4:00AM the next morning! Yvonne was up too and Portia drove to the airport with us. We received daily updates and photos of Portia having her zoomies in the dog park, lots of cuddling on the sofa and I knew she was not stressed in any way as she ate her breakfast and dinner just fine!
We arrived home around 10:30pm – Michael picked us up at the Seabus and we came home to a glass of wine, homemade clam chowder and freshly baked bread, so grateful!! We got lots of kisses from Portia when we walked through the door and she slept with us that night! We all had a nice visit the next day while it was snowing outside!
We highly recommend Yvonne and Michael and tried to secure them for our next two petsits, yet they had commitments already! The house was beautifully maintained and we received a report of things they uncovered as one one does upon moving into a new home (we are still finding deficiencies) which we found very helpful. We were delighted by their personalities and we consider them friends now, we will for sure stay in touch and hope to have them visit again as friends and petsitters!

We can’t express strongly enough how fortunate and happy we are to have had Yvonne & Michael care for our cats Charlie and Callie, as well as for our home for the last 6 months.
We were most concerned about Charlie, who is 13 years old and still missing his dad, who passed away 2 years ago. He has had a hard time accepting other cats and kittens, which we occasionally fostered. In addition, we constantly put him in a position of getting used to different caring people during our long absences. Yvonne and Michael had that keen intuition to gain his trust,
Sadly, Callie was killed by a pack of neighbor’s dogs. We can only imagine how awful Yvonne and Michael must have felt, having to be the bearer of that dreadful news. There was nothing they could have done to avoid this happening. We feel most awful that they had to go through that kind of distress. We know that Callie was loved to pieces by Yvonne and Michael and she even “shared their bed with them”.
Not only was Michael excellent in detecting technical issues with the pool pump and other minor failures, he was also able to fix them, unless a special part was necessary. He would inform us and discuss the steps he was going to take to fix things. Michael took care of cleaning and brushing the pool and he managed to get algae growth off. We could not have done a better job ourselves.
Apart from their regular updates and pictures of our cats, they provided us with a very detailed list of what had happened during their housesitting time. They really handled the house sit like it was their own home.
Yvonne and Michael are a delightful couple, very professional and first class in all aspects. If we could, we would have them every time we needed housesitters. But for the obvious reasons, they are very popular and get booked months in advance. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the most wonderful and professional care of our kitties and our home.

Yvonne and Mike were absolutely wonderful with Daisy, we could not have asked for better sitters for her. Communication was great before, during, and after the sit. They are caring and very professional and we received a ‘sit log’ by email afterwards with everything detailed! They were great with responding to our questions during the sit. It is never easy to travel with an older dog at home but Yvonne and Mike even sent wonderful pictures of Daisy to us to put our hearts at ease! They took care of our gardens, watered our plants, and kept our home in immaculate condition. Everything was super clean when we arrived home. The sit went a couple of days longer than originally intended due to airline changes in schedules and they were able to accommodate us a stay a few days longer. We so appreciate everything they did and who they are as people (who love animals) and they are a joy to be around! We would welcome them back anytime!

Ace house sitters!
We were aware of Yvonne & Michael’s house-sitting reputation well before they did this house sit for us. We had seen their website and blog, and it was clear that they knew their stuff.
We had tried a few times to schedule a house sit with them, but due to scheduling difficulties didn’t succeed in getting them to house sit until recently, when they came for three weeks in February/March 2020.
Their reputation is well deserved, and we could not recommend them enough – absolutely first class in all aspects. They are very experienced house sitters, with publications etc on the subject. They were clearly very comfortable dealing with all the things that might crop up during a house sit – nothing seemed to daunt them.
During their stay they had to deal with some unexpected eventualities, including an attack of vampire
bats (on the dogs, not people!) and an electrical wiring problem. They were clearly well organized, and sent us a template for house guidance which we used to check the instructions we had prepared.
They raised any doubts or questions with us in advance, and we had useful conversations with them after their arrival to get to know each other and clarify various points. They clearly enjoyed sampling the local life, being comfortable touring Rio’s sites and enjoying the more local facilities.
During the visit, they were good at keeping in touch via WhatsApp, and sending us photos of the dogs to show how they were getting on.
We overlapped with them for a couple of days after our return, and they provided useful feedback. They even prepared a summary note at the end about the dogs’ behaviour, equipment issues etc.
They quickly got to know our five dogs and looked after them extremely well, and the same goes for the house and garden. The house was spotless on our return, and everything in order.
Besides being very organized, conscientious and able, we also found them to be lovely people, with charm, wit and sensibility. We would not hesitate to recommend them to others. Top marks !

Yvonne and Michael were grand. Ten “stars” all round! They provided a thoroughly successful house-sit, measured not only by the care of my personal home, but evidenced by the sombre expression/mood of my three dogs on the day of their departure. This is Day 2 since their departure, and still they “pine”!
The “Bauches” went beyond the call of duty, spending most of their time “at home”, assisting with on-going training for “Socks”, “Brando” and “Mocha”, and doubling up on “walks” on many days.
In my absence, they even spent one precious day assisting with a local “SpayNeuter Clinic/Campaign” on the island. I am extremely grateful for their care, and heartily recommend them as exceptional housesitters.

Michael and Yvonne Bauche house sat for us for 3 weeks, looking after 3 dogs, 4 cats and our home and garden in Cyprus. To say they did a good job would be an understatement. They showered our pets with love and care and it was obvious from the moment we met them that they could be trusted with the task in hand.
It’s not everyone who would take on our special needs dog Bailey, who has been paralysed for 5 years, but the Bauches tackled the issues with good grace and humour and Bailey was happy and content in their care, as were all the other animals. Michael now has a new skill on his resumé. Yvonne even gave Bailey massage treatment to strengthen her legs.
Our home was treated with respect and returned to us in immaculate condition and the garden plants were flourishing. Yvonne certainly has green fingers. We were welcomed home with a lovely meal which was very acceptable after a long flight. They adopt a very professional approach and provided us with a log of all relevant events. The handovers at each end were efficient and straightforward.
The Bauches arrived as strangers but we have parted as friends I’m sure. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking for reliable, honest and proficient sitters and would welcome them back anytime.

Even though I was away for five weeks, I was able to relax and enjoy my time away and was completely at ease. In addition, Yvonne sent e-mail or FB as we agreed while I was gone to give updates on how Buddy and the kitties were doing. Yvonne and Michael came to housesit for one month for us last summer while we were travelling. Our house is not a classic housesit as we have our own rainwater tanks which need to be managed – especially in the current drought situation – and the house is isolated in wild rainforest. The washing machine is gravity fed and needs special attention and we do not have any staff to help with cleaning or garden work.
Yvonne and Michael were wonderful and I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone, particularly if your housesit is more complex than normal. They are the first house sitters who have ever returned the house to us with more water in the tanks than when we left! In fact we returned to full tanks which was amazing!
We have three Labradors who need lots of love and attention; the dogs loved them from the moment they set foot here. When they left the dogs spent all day by the gate waiting for them to come back. Pablo is very territorial about his kitchen but they left everything perfectly in its place and there were no breakages.
We feel that the main difference between them and other house sitters is that they are professional sitters, not amateurs, and because of this they pay attention to the smallest details. In other words they listen to what you say and they do exactly what you ask them. They are highly responsible and capable of dealing with any issues which may come up.
They are definitely the best house sitters we have ever had and you are lucky indeed if they agree to housesit for you. If you get the chance, don’t hesitate – book them!

Yvonne and Michael exceeded all our high expectations in taking care of our pets and house. During our 3 week absence they frequently kept in touch with us via email or Skype and sent photos of our pets enjoying all their attention.
When we returned home, we were delighted to find dinner and a bottle of wine ready, our pets well taken care of, a clean house, and a daily log of noteworthy events. Michael & Yvonne capably handled the accounting and fruit sales from our farm; eagerly completed various gardening and other household projects; and kept our wild bird, hummingbird, and wild kinkajou feeders stocked with food.

We have known Yvonne and Mike for many years and they have house and dog sat for us a number of times. Our much loved dog is always thrilled to see them again. Exceptional! Yvonne & Michael are totally responsible to care for the pet…in health and sickness. They took the animal to the vet several times. I watched them groom the animal daily. (I am the neighbor of that house and dog they watched…and direct witness to their care and attention).
The dog loved Yvonne…followed her everywhere. The house was always kept clean and neat. They were in constant contact with the home owner…and even made a wonderful video of the dog for him, it was really special. The dog died of old age months later. The owner treasures that video…..
